NCL Shore Excursions

Shore excursions, whether through NCL or another cruise service, aren't always considered when making reservations for a cruise. The focus is on the ship itself and onboard amenities. The destinations are presumed to take care of themselves. Forward-thinking passengers will make reservations for an independent shore excursion, or simply find their own way to the various sights at a given port of call.

NCL offers its own shore excursions as a part of its Freestyle Cruising philosophy. The policy emphasizes flexibility and a casual atmosphere by providing a number of different options from which the passengers can choose. This centers around onboard dining--most NCL ships have close to a dozen different restaurants instead of one or two large dining rooms--but it also extends to shore excursions. NCL offers a number of different specials for each port of call, which can be found at its onboard shore excursion desk. The excursion fee is charged to the passenger's onboard account, and last-minute changes to the reservations can be accredited easily. In addition, the ship will wait for NCL shore excursions that are late, while independent excursions may leave passengers stranded.

Cruise Reservations Can Include NCL Shore Excursions

More organized passengers can select shore excursions in advance through their travel agents, while more spontaneous passengers can use Freestyle Cruising to make last-minute decisions. Direct Line Cruises can work with NCL to learn about the shore excursion offers and specials at each port of call, and present them to customers as part of the arrangements for the tour.
