Alaskan Cruise Lines

Many cruise lines offer Alaskan cruises. They vary by the length of the trip, the route taken, the ports of call and the size of the ship. In general, however, most Alaskan cruises are seven-night trips. They either travel in the Gulf of Alaska, in the Inside Passage or a combination of both. Most of ships are luxury class cruise liners. Common ports include Juneau, the capital city, Skagway, Ketchikan, and Sitka. Some itineraries also include a trip to Hubbard Glacier or Glacier Bay.

Most all cruise lines travel at night and port during the day, though full days of travel are required at the beginning and ending of the trip. All Alaskan cruises operate on an all-inclusive basis with accommodations, meals, entertainment and use of all facilities included in the cruise fare.

Differences between Alaskan Cruise Lines

Each Alaskan cruise line offered by Direct Line Cruises has it's own distinct personality. The personality of the cruise line influences your cruising experience. For example, Norwegian Cruise Line prides itself on being more laid back than other cruise lines. They offer passengers "freestyle cruising" where you can dress as you like and eat whenever and wherever you choose.

Celebrity Cruises, on the other hand, emphasizes luxury and pampering for its passengers and offers upscale accommodations and superior service. Royal Caribbean is an everyman cruise line with activities and entertainment that caters to a wide variety of tastes. Equally enjoyable for adults and children alike, Royal Caribbean is a great choice for family vacations. Direct Line Cruises can help you choose the right cruise line for your trip.
